I was told that the senior Sony staff member who was in charge of producing big box sets retired last year and hasn't been replaced - so there won't be any new Sony or RCA collections available in the foreseeable future.

I would be surprised if the WDR themselves were the obstacle. Perhaps previous agreements have now lapsed and there are problems dealing with estates in place of the original people. Or perhaps Warner don’t see Bertini as a sufficiently good commercial prospect.
