Definitely doesn't mean the public should stop pushing for these things though. The only way for things to get better is to keep demanding change, and the only way to guarantee things won't get better is to give up. Doomposting is one thing, but don't let it stop you from speaking out.

This, and many other things too yeah. I just dont get how anyone thinks this has a shot. Makes me feel bananas seeing such traction on what I know is gonna go nowhere. This the sorta thing that keeps people complacent. Getting to pretend every now and then that something good might happen.

I just think it's good to remind people that the problems are bigger than just video games. I get frustrated seeing people en masse ignore politics and then share this isolated piece of news.

We haven't even seen the bill's gameplay footage yet. By the time bills actually get passed in US Congress, they often have a lot of DLC that effectively cancel out what the bill does, or do something worse (see KIDS Act actually being a surveillance bill)

1. The ESA/game lobbies in the US are powerful and pushing legislation in the opposite direction 2. This proposal comes from an unreliable politician beholden to wealthy interests 3. "Plans to introduce" means the actual text of the bill is not yet available for the public to review
