You're right about AI being wasteful, of course, but the point was that this hardware was built specifically for AI and can't be repurposed in a way that makes economic sense. It's either AI or a paperweight.

It's not so much that they CAN'T do anything else, it's that it's built to power AI, and doing anything else is wasteful. Like having an F1 car do Amazon deliveries.
