Honestly, what's actually likely is that they applied for a bunch of visas in what Cygames assumed was a totally normal and acceptable time frame (like 5-6 months ago or something) and found out the U.S. still hadn't finished a significant number of them 3 days prior to the show.

To reiterate since it got a bit buried, and since everyone is excited to share my half-baked thoughts: the probable acutal answer is everything was above board, but with Trump's new rules for performer visas, Cygames might have underestimated the runway they needed to get all the paperwork done.

By the way, we know exactly which type of visa they are trying to go for, and they used to be nbd, especially for Japanese talent. Foreign entertainers now face inordinately tougher criteria to enter the U.S., including a profile review of social media to judge whether an act is anti-American or not

If you don't use herbicides, one of the better ways to choke out weeds is just lay a tarp on the ground for a few weeks. Also, it's warm, humid, & full of crickets under there. AKA the perfect hospitality for snakes. This one was living her best life. Until we rudely picked the tarp up
