Thank the gods that Sim and ABC have been kneecapped. Awful governance and clueless priorities.

BREAKING: They’ve called it, PETE FRY of the Green Party is the NEW MAYOR OF THE CITY OF VANCOUVER, with what will be a progressive party coalition majority on City Council. A near-decimation of Ken Sim & ABC, and a significant turning point at a challenging time! Congratulations to the new Council!

How do people think their roads are funded? I know they don't give a rip about schools if their own children are grown, and not about libraries. So offensive how self serving people can be.

“I should only pay taxes for things I use,” is the attitude of someone who doesn’t care about bettering society. I don’t have kids. I still want my taxes to go to schools because what happens when it doesn’t? *waves around blithely* This crap.

“I should only pay taxes for things I use” is a fun precept to adopt after you’ve stopped using services that were funded by the full tax base — you would have needed to pay much much more when your kids were in school if seniors hadn’t been pitching in with property taxes back then!
