In our newest preprint we model the brainstem cholinergic degeneration that occurs in Parkinson's Disease. We characterize motor and non motor symptoms as well as circuit alterations with ex vivo electrophysiology and in vivo fiber photometry.
Show Post(1/2) I’m starting a NeuroAI and comp neuro lab at the University of Toronto! How do brains and AI learn from ongoing experience? How do they connect delayed outcomes to past actions, adapt to change, and retain what matters? Recruiting funded PhD students for Fall 2027. Links in the reply 👇
Show PostVery excited about this preprint! We present a new method to flexibly align your 2P imaging plane with curved biological structures. Great work of PhD student Shinjini Ghosh, with Fritjof Helmchen, @nvladimus.bsky.social, and many others! www.biorxiv.org/content/10.6...
Show PostOur paper on exponentiated gradient (EG) learning is now out at Neuron! www.cell.com/neuron/fullt... We show that EG naturally respects Dale's law and produces networks that are a better phenomenlogical fit to biological networks. Congrats to @repromancer.bsky.social for getting this out! 🧠📈 🧪
Show PostA 1985 study showed that monkeys could focus their attention on different stimuli without shifting their gaze. In “This paper changed my life, @earlkmiller.bsky.social describes how the work marked a key milestone in the emergence of cognitive neuroscience. www.thetransmitter.org/this-paper-c...
