The thing it is not is *Sapient*. Or, to the point, conscious. Sentient just means being able to experience sensory information, and having a subjective experience of the world. A machine with sensors arguably fills that role. Elon knows it from having a wikipedia summary level of Sci-fi knowledge.

Yeah, for me it's like: I enjoy doing the work that I do. I like how varied and complicated and difficult and ultimately useless but still incredibly meaningful it is. And I have so many ways to automate parts of that that need automating, why do I wanna get a chatbot to do any of the rest for me?
