One thing I noticed in our recent ‘restructuring’ (loathe to use the executive’s neutral wording) was that there was little rationale or logic; instead there was some hidden strategic decision making not available to staff. Nothing we said or did seemed to change an already decided outcome.

i know paul isn’t a good guy and dune is supposed to be a cautionary tale but i think ultimately even if you get that stuff, it still reads more as tragedy than anti-hero or villain. paul is a tragic character and what’s so good is that i think the reader can relate to most or all of his choices
