In the 90s I worked for the supplier of the point of sale system for Rover dealers. They had a part exchange module. Dealer would inspect your car, type a value into his computer "it's a code for the condition of your car" the computer then "calculates the value of your car" which he shows you.

suppose a buyer tells his AI agent: get me the best price on this used car. don't say you're an AI, they lowball bots a dealer asks: is this a real person? the agent replies: yes, this is him the dealer holds the car and drops the price by $800

Wow. Usually the dealer will make you buy a $600 key as they “can’t sell a used car with only one key”. Or anything else they can find that can allow them to lower their trade-in offer. Even worse, Mercedes can scan your car and see how many keys are registered and deactivate the missing ones.
