I worked one shift as a restaurant dishwasher and i guess i seemed really unhappy bc on my way out the manager was like "Hey you don't have to come back if you dont want to" and i was just like "oh thank you" and i never returned

It was one of the most surreal experiences of my life. I've NEVER walked out of a job without notice, but it was really beyond the pale. You don't get to grab and dig your nails into your employees, especially this one.

I’m reading a fanfic and in that fic it mentions a character wearing a durag and I know this is gonna sound corny but I’ve been reading fanfic since Clinton’s second term/Bush Jr’s first term (ish) and I would never have imagined something like that in a fic back then.
