My main read of Obsession was that Bear was evil but thought that he was OK and that all of her behaviour is his fault. I took it as a commentary about how shit men ruin women's lives w trauma by duping or forcing an impressive woman into a r'ship and get off Scott-free and dismiss her as "crazy."
Show PostI suffer from abandonment trauma, but that doesn't magically mean that I'm like, a possessive, objectifying "bunny boiler" or whatever. I struggle with the painful emotions but I don't make them other people's problem and just process them silence. I don't disregard consent just bc I'm in pain.
Show PostI thought that too! Like Bear is a rapist and he curses Nikki to have an extreme exaggeration of EUPD/BPD/abandonment trauma for his own ego. I don't know enough about horror to know that it's a trope to demonise/victim-blame people with abandonment trauma. The ableism doesn't surprise me, tho.
