In BC if you are a cancer patient you get free parking at hospitals for a year.

Same for me and all the scans, tests, meetings with doctors, lung surgery, stay in specialist cardio/thoracic ward, follow-up post-op meeting/check-up $0 and my private car travel costs to & from the hospital were subsidised @ $0.40/km! Only out of pocket costs were for parking which totalled <$50!
