Had a proper fright on Halloween thanks to Kai’s Trick or Treating. There was a house with lots of kids around as they made it a game of guaranteed small candy or risk a trick for big candy. I thought we had an eye on him but he had slipped through the crowd of kids to continue trick or treating.

Immediate, severe panic and fear as I ran down the street asking for a Mario as people pointed me further along. After 5 minutes of abject dread, I finally spotted him continuing to the next house, safe. Hugged him so tight and nearly broke down crying. He was done trick or treating at that point.

I’m ok now and he’s perfectly fine. But I’ve been holding him tighter all night. I love him so much and if anything had happened, I don’t know if I could’ve recovered. Thankfully I can push those thoughts from my head and enjoy the relief of him looking at his candy haul.
