I seriously wonder if these people ever stepped outside of their basement. I’ve had this happen when I spoke about my ADHD to someone and they went “yeah I have ADHD but no issues with concentration.” I wanted to punch them so badly cuz of how they said it… But I walked away, instead.

People always misinterpret things in bad faith whenever it's talk about ableism and internalized ableism over symptoms that can't be marketed as quirky or endearing to the masses (Ie. "well I have ocd and I don't have intrusive thoughts/contamination fear")

When people automatically assume "less palatable" means "harms others" Someone with a disorder or disability doesn't have to commit harm for people to justify treating them subhuman, hello? Usually it's just "well they act really annoying and cringe in a way I can't romanticize"
