And what’s funny is that I think about this conversation a lot, for reasons totally unrelated to the fact that he’s Tom Hanks. I think about it because of an exchange we had about parents, and the moment you start to wonder what your parents thought about when you were little, other than you.

He was really lovely and really charming, and we taped it within a day or two of some of the worst Harvey Weinstein stuff being published, when it seemed like awfulness was *everywhere*. I remember telling people: If he hadn’t been nice, I think I would have lost it.
