What I did find revelatory about it then - and still do to this day - is the idea that different genes being replicated by the same body can have different ‘interests’ and come under different selection pressures.

Kevin doing a very good job of surgically dissecting Dawkins. I'm not a geneticist, and Kevin is much more knowledgeable than I am here. My big beef with Dawkins is more vibe - his absolute certainty about his own correctness and that anyone with another view is simply stupid and wrong a priori
