So ready for gay Halloween to dominate my TL today 🎃
Show PostCurrent solution is generic slugline eg, INT. HOTEL Not INT. HOTEL - LOBBY Then in the action lines, state where we are within the hotel: In the LOBBY [something happens] INSIDE THE ELEVATOR… a person waits for the door to close IN A GUEST ROOM… a character sleeps.
Show PostIn my own writing, been working hard to fix things cause readers to slow down or pause. One recurring issue is how to move the action around to different areas under a single slugline. Example: INT. HOTEL One scene can move from lobby to restaurant to elevator to a room. How to guide the reader??
Show PostFun setup! Trying to study these more closely… First slug includes STAIRWELL. A few lines down, he’s no longer in the stairwell. A mini-slug would fix that, or move “stairwell” from the slug to 1st action line, and add “In hallway” to later line Also: why is hoodie “sweat-soaked” on a snowy day?
Show PostGoddamn, writers are the coolest people 😎
