i don't have a perfect solution here, but i think the starting point for male progressives is to genuinely not care stop trying to prove to either our enemies or yourself that you're not like the annoying woke, the hysterical cringe libs, the 'hr lady' ... this is your team, defend, don't distance

probably & it's part of why many straight-cis progressives are reluctant to defend trans people but it's a broader thing—if you're socially liberal, you'll be perceived as more feminine & more queer. if you're prominent/ run for office, you'll be attacked as such
