2020 comes along and we’re in the midst of a global pandemic, catching us unready BECAUSE of the acts of Trump 1.0, and it still remained questionable whether we could pull it off. Which was CRAZY. There never should have been a question. Never a doubt.

2016, and things are going pretty well. One of the problems for Democrats in my lifetime, anyway, is that apparently when things are going well, it seems a lot of white voters want to go back to their default settings.

For instance, yes, President Obama is a gifted politician and the man can move people. But would 2008 have happened without a financial crisis brought on by deregulation and lack of oversight that defines the Republican Party?

It’s truly remarkable how badly Republicans have to fuck up in the current climate for it to look like they’ll have a bad election. Yes, some of that is gerrymandering and foul shenanigans. But an awful lot of that is on the white American voter.
