Bloodsworn has wonderful, gradual world building and Gwynne takes the time to let you fall in love with characters, and no one is safe from plot armor. Orka was my favorite character and she will stick with me for a long time.

Depends on what you're looking for style wise. Malice is written in a more contemporary style while the Bloodsworn Saga is written in a more distant, heroic style akin to "Beowulf" etc. I loved Bloodsworn for the style and compelling female POVs. Picks up around the 20% mark then is a thrill ride.
