Due to the films using a pre-existing character mask for their killer. The devs only bought the rights to the character mask, so the character has no direct references to Scream.

I’m assuming it’s a legal gray area similar to Ghostface. TL;DR version, the Ghostface killer in the game isn’t based on any specific one from the Scream movies, but an original character donning the mask and outfit, cuz the copyrights for the mask and for the films are entirely separate (cont.)

Seems like they’re limited in what content can be included - Jason’s design is one not seen in any of the films and the promotional material makes no mention of the Friday the 13th title.

It doesn’t feel like they just slapped you into a Warzone map and said “Here, do stuff” To their credit it feels like an actual developed game within a game, again, it feels like a discount Far Cry map
