It's a podcast, literally what do you have to lose by making it 40 minutes instead of 27? These topics have generated an entire world of literature and conversation, it's a choice to smash them all together in a run-time barely longer than an episode of The Simpsons.

Most of it stems from the bewildering decision to cap the most fraught episode of the season at 27 minutes. Was this not a topic worth exploring for even an additional 15 minutes? Since it muddles the timeline for listeners, the tight format doesn't even add clarity!

We were trained that if in class, a student asked a personal question, such as "Did you hear about our soccer game last night?", we were instructed to redirect back to class. The TLAC book praises a teacher who built relationships by asking classroom questions to students during passing periods.
