Not just that, it would also make anyone who wants to do anything that needs computing power (playing games, game dev, rendering, video editing, etc etc) to be entirely dependent on cloud computing. And therefore another paywall for an inferior user experience.

Local Models are only months away from the current frontier, I've got a 125B model installed on my machine, the only issue is context size but these models are getting more and more efficient.
