That scene is my marker for what makes Star Trek great to me. Stewart does a beautiful job clearly navigating his way through a tricky conversation talking someone down from believing he’s anything more than just another person and in doing so he elevates her idea of what her own value is. Great!!

Loved Patrick Stewart being in anything- TNG, Lifeforce, Dune, Green Room, etc - but it’s always this scene in TNG that I think of when I think of why I loved this man. The patience, empathy, kindness and ultimately fascination for interacting with a fellow sentient being.
