My municipality uses an AI system that combines cameras, thermal cameras, smoke detectors, lightning strike data and more to spot wildfires early. We stopped like 9 fires last summer. That's good AI. I'd much prefer it if the data collected and profits for subscriptions went to a Canadian company.

It's not a terrible investment for a few reasons. The first is that a lot of Canadian companies can't use foreign AIs because of privacy and data storage rules. They will use and pay for a Canadian solution.
