It's not actually that great of turnout in the 1st. Or, I should say, the Republican turnout there is not great. R's should be massacre-ing D's in turnout, not just modestly ahead of them. But yes, Douglas County's turnout has been stellar (equal to much bigger Shawnee), keeping it close.

I’d say savvy Dems ought to lean into it. “The worst pundits hate me, and that’s how you know I’m doing something right.” If they’re going to make a bunch of insinuations about you no matter what you do, then you’ve got no reason to compromise on your agenda. Go full force on them, let them seethe.
