Switched from an NVIDIA gpu to AMD The card cost me far too much thanks to the AI slop craze, but I had to replace it because I was scammed and bought a faulty 3070 in March… (It was under 1k USD. Death to AI though)

Some interesting economics here. 1. LLM's made GPU's more valuable. GPU supply slow to adjust, so prices spiked. Eventually supply will catch up though. 2. You usually want to scale costs of tokens with the opportunity cost of hardware, if not more. Why isn't that happening?

very annoyed that i had to fork out for a new case but a) it still cost less than the discount i got on the gpu b) the old case was like 20 years old c) the new one is very pretty
