Ellison kept mentioning this, he founded a company called Network Computer that sold thib clients with basically the minimum memory or CPU needed to simply connect with a server he would own and control

Back in 1993, an Oracle exec named Tim Negris tried to claim that the future of computing was going to be thin clients, dumb terminals which simply connect you to the mainframe you rent computer from. Larry Ellison jumped on board with this, as a way to compete with Microsoft.
