ive said it before and I'll say it again, writers are THE backbone of fandom!!! they deserve a lot more respect for the work they contribute for FREE for other fans to enjoy!!!! I don't think it's that outrageous for them to feel upset abt re-uploads w/o permission or ask for comments on their fics

I think people who say you should write fanfiction for yourself, don't understand that writing something and sharing it online are two different things. You can write for your own enjoyment and then just keep it yourself. If you want someone to share, you have to let them know or they stop sharing.

user-locked fics now just being shoved out there for whoever. These open shared drives means anyone and anything can access stuff that was purposefully put behind a door, so that sucks. Idm people sharing my work between friends but finding out that it's just out in the open would frustrate me.

Yeah unfortunately I've seen people just uploading shit to mass-shared Google drives and many fic writers specifically*don't* use Google to write because Google uses everything in drives to train AI so having their work so having it uploaded there anyways is a major betrayal not to mention
