Yes, it’ll be an unfathomably hard job to enforce that, and it’ll be constant and often thankless. But hosting this platform is the one duty that VRChat has as an organisation, no? It’s literally its job. It’s what many of us pay it to do.

It’s incredibly cool tech, but it only has that value because it is the sum total of what we, artists, researchers, and everyday people have posted online. The value is ours, yet we were not approached for compensation. I know I am not allowed to rip others’ work. So why are they?

LLMs and media generation STOLE our writing, our art, our models, and for an increasing number of folks, our livelihoods - for its own profit. It can only work with a dataset that size. Ripping assets and work is against VRChat’s TOS. This is a serious matter of enforcing your own terms of service.

And this isn't even true, people filter content on multiple platforms constantly and go back to edit them. Spoilers for shows and games that come out are ROUTINELY filtered and yet people still engage with them once they see said media themselves. This is a farce, through and through.
