The "civility" mentality that deems it fine to say, indirectly, to thousands "you need to be poorer" but bad manners to directly say to someone "your graph is dodgy". Now what is that if not the most hypocritical, thin-skinned and self-centred thing you've ever heard?

I have also been subjected to this sort of tyranny. Do not fold. If you give them one book - yes, even that one you thought was crap and will never read again - they will take them all. Resist. Covertly buy bookcases. Refuse the lure of the charity shop. You never know when you'll need it.
