"Natural Image" mode is just how Japanese people refer to a "hicolor" or "true color" mode (eg. simultaneous colors above 256). It's just the YJK mode of the MSX2+ which decodes clusters of pixels to assign more bits to luminance and fewer to chrominance. That has little bearing on the video output.

The MSX2 and 2+ can set their output refresh rates by software, so I suppose it's doing NTSC at 50hz for some reason, either intentionally or accidentally. Perhaps the internal registers of the V99xx can also be set to intermediate values, allowing odd screen starting positions, that sort of thing.
