And this isn't saying anything about visibly marginalized folks or the importance of what other pops experience. It is only saying that it is messed up to excuse or minimize discrimination impacts by insinuating or stating folks should be required or encouraged to hide their identity to be safe.
Show PostIt's been ~8 years and I still get angry that one of the more pushed concepts about queer and trans folks in my master's diversity class was that discrimination isn't as big of a deal for us because we can choose for people to not know we are queer. It was bull shit then and is bull shit now.
