Altman is a Rationalist idiot, but he did 2 years on a Computer Science degree, he knows how computers work.
Show PostHe's not talking literally about all RAM everywhere. He's talking about current gen RAM used in PCs. He doesn't care about 4 gigs of ddr4-2400 in somebody's Chromebook. He just wants you to not be able to do any local computing beyond notepad and calc, and especially not your own LLM.
