Maybe if we want small electric vehicles to become more popular (to, you know, save the planet, human health, cost, economy of space), maybe we should let bikes be effortless transportation too. Class 2 is it, but it is tenuous, and legally requires those silly pedals. Free the bike.

I just want to go around slapping these tiny pedals on everything that moves (escalators, elevators, cars, motorcycles, boats, train seats, bus seats, etc) just to make a point about the absurdity of maintaining an exercise requirement on a fundamental right to move from A to B. Only bikes require.

Love these delivery e-bikes. They look like scooters, b/c scooters are the optimal personal mobility vehicles. Performative pedals satisfy the bike lobby’s exercise obsession, but no one would ever use them. (Class 2, FTW.) Warm hands. Comfy seat. Cargo. Mirrors. Floorboards. Effortless bikes 9/10.
