Applicants couldn't submit resumes with a click. Applying to 500+ jobs would have bankrupted me just on paper & postage alone. I just feel so bad for anyone who has to go through this, especially at the start of their careers where you just hope someone will notice you & take a chance.

I know I am not the first person to observe this but getting a job was so much easier when there were actually barriers to posting and applying to jobs. Employers didn't spend on an ad if they weren't seriously hiring. Interviews took up their time & so were scheduled judiciously.
