I try to stick to logical arguments even when I'm heated because every now and then it cools things back off. And even if it doesn't it at least means I'm avoiding accidentally making bad arguments in the heat of the moment.

(This is also why people respond far better to Democratic candidates who lay out how they intend to fix things, like Mamdani, over ones who don't and just say to focus on winning the election first)
