Third icon in from the left there is the App browser. In my config when you mouse over the icons there they pop up a text tool tip that indicates what they are. The very first icon in the row is the Finder which is the file tree WHYSIWYG hard drive browser, it will also have a Spotlight Search too.
Show PostClicking on that icon will summon the universal search, called Spotlight Search. Spotlight works like any other search engine, and you can even filter by apps, or documents or various other things if you want but that is not necessary.
Show PostYeah, I don't particularly care for the single button mouse setup either. Happily if you use a conventional two (or more!) button mouse MacOS readily supports right click menus, the way god (but not Jobs) intended.
Show PostAbout 95% of the stuff you know and use works in both, especially from the keyboard, but things like "Alt-Tab" use "Command-Tab" instead. I stopped building Windows computers for home use when Windows 10 came along, it broke enough prior experience in an attempt to be Mac-Like that I got a real Mac.
Show PostYeah that's part of their design language, they wanted to disambiguate corners you might grab to re-size a window versus the buttons that manage the windows being full screen, minimized, or closed. That's a very different thing in MacOS. FWIW I use a Mac at home and a Windows machine for work.
