Hmm, I don't see how he's really been wrong so far about the companies' technology, though he himself admits he's not a technologist. AI is and has been shit, they just keep finding new ways to bolt on systems to keep it from fucking up, which I don't consider "better" in any real sense.
Show PostOh I don't need Ed to tell me about AI's technological capabilities. Has it improved? Sure, though I'm not sure what your metrics are to seem to think that it's magnitudes better than before, I see mostly marginal improvements to any novel uses with bolted on rails to catch bad outputs.
Show PostAs to cheaper, yeah there are cheaper models available, but I don't believe for a minute the new prestige models are cheaper to run in any meaningful sense, so it's kind of a wash?

"Price charged per token" is mostly definitely not the cost to run AI, and if that's what you're going to pitch me on...
