I agree completely, and because they're focused on branding, their messages are always getting taken over by capitalist thought i.e. reading success as clicks, views, metrics, return on investment, etc.

This thread gave me flashbacks to BLM when I was in the US. People like Deray & Shaun King making a living off being vocal. They were the ones giving the slogans and having white people pay them to absolve them of their white guilt and privilage. Many of these folks made money off BLM. So bleak.

... unpleasant about the way people fixated on the most individualist possible understanding of it and expanded it to replace rather than serve a proper analytical framework. But I don't know how to stop people from inappropriately and uselessly overvaluing a particular tool like that.
