It seems war is coming to the Green Party. This war is a familiar one. Something similar (but not quite the same) played out in the Labour party in 2015-2019. The dominant liberal tendency in the Green Party has been supplanted by the socialist tendency and they aren't going to take it laying down.

I'm a socialist. For me the key to changing the world is for a mass movement to confront and defeat the powerful. They cannot be reasoned with. A green in the room has not stopped genocide, wealth inequality or planetary destruction. Ordinary people are our strength. We need to take over the house.

The war in the Green Party is starting as the liberal tendency now seems to be doing what it historically does whenever democracy doesn't give it the result it wants: it seeks to centralise decision making. Ordinary people can't be trusted so they must be mitigated or bypassed entirely.
