some people may need the feeding time to be tied to clock time perhaps if they need to be there to supervise but most of us want to have the cat get food when it expects it; the apps should have a slider to choose which rather than the human having to manually change the time twice a year

no you misunderstand me; modern, app-driven automatic pet feeders *do* switch to DST automatically and then the feeding time is an hour later and the cat is discombobulated because dinner is late. I'm saying the feeders should have the choice to not feed later
