And, for others, it was an opportunity to make it with teenaged girls. My old man ran in left political circles those days (knew some of the folks who became Weathermen) and had very little time for the hippies. But he was also a pretty weird dude in his own way, so take that with a grain of salt.

I’d have a hard time believing it, but my dad Andy nana are both thoughtful people, and the former can’t recall how he voted in either Bush election (seems to think he voted for him one time and against the other, but doesn’t know which is which) and the latter if she voted Reagan or Mondale.
