“Most people have this naive assumption that if they’re on the shelf, they must have been tested and found safe…” Correct. Here’s the podcast if you want to listen. Trigger warning: he experiences psychosis and suicidal ideation. His life was almost ended.
Show PostHe described himself as a conservative who had been against “big pharma”. Then he became a victim of a wellness grift. He came to learn that when it comes to supplements, “Consumers have no confidence about what’s actually in the bottle”. This is what so many of us have tried to get across.
Show PostListening to the pod, I alternated between empathy and fury. The man had no idea that supplements aren’t regulated by the FDA. He just bought them from some random after he “researched” the peptides. Prior to this he was a big anti-pharma guy. Felt supplements were the way.
Show PostI listened to a podcast yesterday about a guy who purchased peptides on the internet. Then he grew paranoid, separated from his wife whom he was convinced was conspiring against him, blew all of his money, became severely depressed, etc. Turns out the “peptides” were anabolic steroids.
