"It would be good if it was good" is tolerable. It's something that can be contemplated with equanimity and even discussed in polite company. "It legitimately IS good, except for one extremely specific creative choice that annoys the piss out of me" will have you gnawing off your own limbs.

And to add on to this, one of the primary effects of this slop flood is going to be lower engagement for established-quality devs, and lower sales overall for itch/all because if I go to find a game and I get nothing but garbage in the first minute of searching there's not gonna be a second minute.
