Oh yes - plenty of these barriers around here too (not taking space away, but providing no protection for non-drivers). Example: main A38 cycle route (and my cycle commute for many years) between Burton (pop. 76k) and Derby (pop. 261k) - 70mph traffic, separated by a kerb.

These "safety measures" are everywhere. Bridge near us here, on both sides of the road has barriers that block around 50% of the pavement. Combined with overgrowing hedges, the end result is pedestrians in the road - so pedestrians sacrifice space and safety for motoring safety.

A little bell that turns blue if someone has replied to something I've said or posted. I take note of that. I only look at the posts and re-posts from people I'm following here, not the trending.
