Most of these older solar panels have more precious materials per panel than modern panels. Is *repowering* now what sets this recycling loop hack into motion? 200W panel recycled becomes enough material for 80% of a 400W panel? Is there a cost threshold that has to be overcome vs virgin material?

Repowering sounds like a great idea until you discover re-engineering costs, potentially replacing trackers and a bunch of expensive construction work. People do it, but it doesn’t pencil out often unless a site was hit with a catastrophic event.
