Good, Angie Nixon will be able to pay for some more canvassing (As I've heard more money was needed) And then... oh imagine. Senator Peltola endorses AOC 2028 lol
Show PostThe current Congress ends on January 3. Johnson won’t be Speaker. Republicans will not have a majority. Anything that involves them staying would be, point-blank a coup in which they simply refuse to accept constitutional reality. I appreciate Luttig’s warnings here newrepublic.com/article/2151...
Show PostI’m not saying there is literally no way possible for them to try and stop the seating of the next Congress. I’m saying all the ways are unconstitutional and illegal. And that should be the starting point for how we frame this.
Show PostThat would be a situation that would require a wholly different response. But if they’re going to just go online and on tv and say things like “we have questions about whether these candidates should be seated,” then every reporter and interviewer should interject that they can’t stop it.
Show PostThe only way they can stop anything is by applying illegal force, either through DOJ or a mob. That’s possible, yes, but it’s also an escalation of the crisis that would put us explicitly in coup territory. Obviously they did try this in 2021!
