The insistence that everything, and everyone, has to be either 100% "good" or 100% "bad" is the absolute worst outcome of the social media age. And it's absolutely NOT how history has ever worked, nor ever will.

Reminder that nuanced debate is what social media absolutely does worst. Always assume that if I am writing about a thing, I am writing about it through the lens of that specific event or historical context. People and institutions are complex. They can be simultaneously good and bad and are.
