Tangential to this (v good) essay from Sam — I think what drives people to this movie is not dissimilar to what makes reality tv appealing. The dissection of others’ behavior, negotiating what is or isn’t socially acceptable with other viewers in a world where social obligation has been devalued

I’m so glad I never went with proton. It just never had the right mixture of features for me & the company never gave me good vibes. Now I know why. Also IMO real ones use Signal etc for spicy info/ NSA Brad avoidance. Investigative reporter here: avoid putting the heavy shit in email if you can 🤷🏻‍♀️
